Vienna (February 10, 2023). After five successful conferences, HOTCO, the hotel investment conference specializing in the large CEE region, is moving from Budapest to Vienna. Thus, on Monday/Tuesday, 27/28 March 2023, participants will meet for the first time on the Danube and at the Andaz Vienna. Organizer is Marius Gomola from Horwath HTL Hungary. He now announced more speakers and panelists. hospitalityInside.com is once again media partner of this event.
"We launched HOTCO in 2017 and have held five successful events in Budapest since its inception, attracting 300 participants from 35 countries each year," Marius Gomola explains the move. "Austria has always played a leading role for the entire HOTCO region. And Vienna is a city that is better connected than Budapest by both public and private transport."

Unchanged, the focus of the conference remains on the larger CEE (Central & Eastern Europe) region, which includes SEE (Southeastern Europe), the Baltics, the Caucasus, and the CIS countries. The focus is on hotel real estate and projects in the CEE region. Thematic focal points are development, financing, and asset management of hotel projects as well as news and analyses about success stories of regional hotel investors, owners and brands.
45% of the participants so far have been investors, owners, vice presidents and managing directors. In Vienna, the organizer again expects around 300 participants. The conference will be opened by Susanne Kraus-Winkler, Austrian State Secretary for Tourism at the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs.
Gomola came up with more names this week, which also prove the close networking of Austria and Eastern Europe: Otmar Michaeler, CEO of FMTG/Falkensteiner Hotels and Martina Maly-Gärtner (COO UBM Development), both from Vienna, Jósezef Szigetvária, the CEO of the Hungarian Szallas Group, a now supra-regional booking platform, Roland Paar (Managing Partner of the investor SoHospitality, Vienna), Mark Hennebry as Director Hotels of CP Holdings, which is behind Hungary's Danubius Hotels and Ensana Health Spa Hotels, and Gheorghe Maria Cristescu, COO of PHH Group, a state-owned Polish group and now the second largest in the country, with over 50 hotels and facilities (approx . 6,000 rooms).
Rupert Simoner, CEO of Vienna House Hotel Management GmbH, will deliver this year's HOTCO Keynote. Other speakers include Oliver Bonke, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality; Heribert Gangl, Director Hotel & Tourism of Erste Group; Tomislav Popović, CEO of Maistra Hospitality Group; Marcus Milan Arandelovic, Head of Hospitality, Cerberus Global Investments; Mindee Lee, Corporate Strategy and Board Secretary, CPI Property Group; David Kellett, MD Hotel Transactions, Invesco and Prof. Dr. Christian Buer, Managing Partner, Horwath HTL Germany.

Brigitte T. Gruber from Horwath HTL Austria supports her colleague Marius Gomola in the organization of this year's HOTCO Vienna. She too emphasizes that Vienna, as the "Gateway to the East", is the ideal venue for HOTCO: "Over the past 30 years, the city has taken a leading role in developing and financing the CEE region's hotel industry. That's why it's important that Vienna once again hosts a major hotel investment conference for this region."
