Madrid (December 23, 2022). The Atlantic Ocean Hotel Investors' Summit (AOHIS) kick off on 16-17 2023 at the NH Collection Eurobuilding hotel in Madrid, with 115 speakers lined up, almost half from the hospitality real estate sector. So far, a total of over 70 investors, developers and owner-operators are registered with more to come. HospitalityInside supports AOHIS as a media partner. Our subscribers receive a special price.
Although there is an Atlantic angle to the Summit, there are currently attendees from 24 countries: Brazil, Brunei, Costa Rica, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mexico, Morocco, Portugal, Qatar, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK, and the USA.
Simon Allison, CEO of organizer, Hoftel, says: "We only run one conference in each Continent, so this is our European event, and we are delighted to see so many members and other investor groups coming along, as well as a large number of global and regional brands."
Many leading Spanish hoteliers are participating including Ramón Aragonés, Raúl González, Jordi Ferrer, Abel Matutes, José Pousa, Federico Holzmann and María Zarraluqui.
Other notable speakers include Javier Aguilá, Dillip Rajakarier and Javier Arús – and investors attending include Blackstone, Brookfield, KSL, Swiss Life, HR Group, Union Investment, CapMan, Pro-Invest, Explorer Investments, Cedar Capital, Katara, Schroders, Archer, Invesco, CPG Real Estate, IREMIS, AXA, Playa Hotels and Resorts, ASG and Madaëf.
What will they be discussing?
Simon notes: "2023 is a year of great uncertainty. Hoteliers are facing high inflation, a scarcity of debt and higher interest rates along with labor cost and supply cost pressures and a realization that ESG capex is also coming down the track. The 2022 recovery, especially in the luxury and resort sectors, was really strong but are we about to see a reversal, with high energy prices and geopolitical pressures keeping people at home? And can owners survive without the big brands; if not, what are the best arrangements for working with them? We'll be covering all that and more". Also on hospitalityInside.com. / map
