Ljubljana (June 6, 2008). The program of Slovenia's first tourism-related investment conference in the region is fixed. The sessions show the region's desire to learn from discussions in other, neighbouring countires. Organized by The Slovenia Times, the "IC Investment Conference 2008" for the Western Balkan will take place in two weeks time, on 16-17 June in Nova Gorica.

International investors, tourism experts and decision-makers from Slovenia and the Western Balkans will discuss the opportunities for investments in tourism-related projects as well as growth prospects of the region's tourism industry. The two-day conference will focus on most promising opportunities in the region, strategies for promoting investment in and growth of the tourism sector in Slovenia and the six emerging markets of the region: Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.

The first session will give an overview about the investment climate in the region's industry and introduce the "movers" of the industry. Niche tourism became attractive by the positive experiences with gulfing, so people discuss other, maybe ecological opportunities. Of course, investors in the Western Balkan also discuss the profit chances of luxury and budget investments as well as urban developments.

The second conference day will spend more time on future developments, especially in gaming tourism. Geographically, the Adriatic coast comes into focus.
The conference aims to make it easier for potential investors and developers to get acquainted with plans and ambitions of the Western Balkans countries in the field of tourism. State secretaries for tourism from the region will be attending the conference. The regular registration fee is 900 Euro (exc. VAT).
