Ljubljana (May 23, 2008). Slovenia is expecting its tourism-related investment conference in the region, organized by The Slovenia Times. On 16-17 June in Nova Gorica, international investors, tourism experts and decision-makers from Slovenia and the Western Balkans will discuss the opportunities for investment in tourism-related projects as well as growth prospects of the region's tourism industry. hospitalityInside.com joins the conference as a media partner.

The two-day conference will focus on most promising opportunities in the region, strategies for promoting investment in and growth of the tourism sector in Slovenia and the six emerging markets of the region: Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania. As these countries have been growing faster than other European markets, the growth potential of their tourism industries, one of the more dynamic sectors of their economies, is all the more interesting to investors.

The conference aims to make it easier for potential investors and developers to get acquainted with plans and ambitions of the Western Balkans countries in the field of tourism. State secretaries for tourism from the region will be attending the conference, allowing investors to get in touch with them and engage in a fruitful exchange of views on various tourism-related issues.

At the conference, special attention will be given to urban development and hotel projects that will thoroughly remake the skyscapes of the region's fast-growing cities. The overview of investment opportunities will be complemented by a practical session where the participants will get to know the differences between the legal regimes regulating investment in real estate part of tourism across the Western Balkans.

As gaming industry and niche tourism are becoming increasingly important engines of growth, two sessions at the conference will be dedicated to the challenges of these sectors. Participants registered until June 1, 2008 pay 810 Euro for the conference. When two or more delegates from the same company register, a 25% discount is offered. The regular registration fee is 900 Euro (exc. VAT).

The conference "Focus on the Western Balkans: Tourism-related Investment Opportunities" will be followed by conference on investment in energy sector in October (www.investment-conference.si). / red
