Munich (August 24, 2018). Hospitality is moving! At this year's Expo Real, which will open on 8 October at Munich Trade Fair, visitors will find exhibitors from the hotel industry in Hall A2, and no longer in Hall C2. The entire sector will move. The reason for the change is the extra space required by Retail. Organiser HospitalityInside will present 31 exhibitors at the joint stand "World of Hospitality” (A2.240), which for the first time will also include a destination. With the hotel exhibitors, the Conference Forum will also move into Hall A2 – to the "Planning & Partnership Forum”. Below you find the names and news about the joint stand, the networking event "BRICKS & BRAINS" and the Expo Real hotel conference "Hospitality Industry Dialogue".
In Hall A2, the hospitality industry will be close to the West entrance of the fair ground. Alongside exhibitors from Poland, Holland, Hungary and Central Germany, companies including Deka, JLL, CBRE and Hochtief also have their stands there.
At the "World of Hospitality", the trend is stable. The majority of the co-exhibitors are regulars. arcona Hotels, last year part of Deutsche Hotel & Resort Holding, is represented individually this year. Deutsche Seereederei is this year together with DSR Hotel Holding. Dorint and Honestis AG, on the other hand, have their own stand. Their position will be taken by new co-exhibitors.
• For the first time, a destination will also be represented at the joint stand: Northern Bavaria will be represented under the label "Hofer Land - Fichtelgebirge - Region Bayreuth" and will promote its beautiful landscape, its quality of life and good infrastructure for investment, in particular in hotels and tourism projects.
• Behind Gorgeous Smiling Hotels (GSH) is the hotel group of Heiko Grote from Augsburg with its own brand Arthotel ANA. It is also franchisee of the international brands AccorHotels, Choice Hotels, Hilton, IHG and Wyndham. Since the beginning of the year, a new capital partner has cleared the way for more intensive expansion.
• Engel & Voelkers, with its main stand in Hall C2, will also be represented at World of Hospitality.

Networking event
again with 200 guests
BRICKS & BRAINS will also connect hospitality with the real estate industry at the trade fair. Once again, HospitalityInside expects 150 to 200 guests, with the kind support of Kempinski Hotels and the team of the Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Munich, which will again provide catering for the popular networking event on Monday evening. The invitations will be sent personally.
11th Hospitality Industry Dialogue with hot topics
The hotel conference "Hospitality Industry Dialogue" (HID) of Expo Real, the contents of which will be set for the 11th time by hospitalityInside.com Editor-in-Chief Maria Puetz-Willems, will this year, by way of exception, take place on the first day of the trade fair at 1 p.m. In the morning, the "Planning & Partnerships Forum" will take place in Hall A2 with two panels on healthcare; one of these also forms a bridge with the hospitality industry. The topics dealt with in the HID reflect the current hotly debated issues in the sector.
HID will therefore begin with the subject 'brands': Exclusively for Expo Real, the British data analyst STR will take a look at selected boutique and lifestyle brands and compare them with "traditional" hotel brands. A perfect introduction to the "big brand chaos" currently seen on the market. Large as well as small chains have set off a veritable flood of brands – and thus also generated "fake brands", annoying owners...
"Who gets the deal?" This is the question throughout the whole year in hotel development and is therefore the title of a discussion on the changed role of project developers and will include rare assets, excessive prices, exploding construction costs, new arrivals to the business and hyperdynamics.
As a result, there's the search for stable returns: How can the value of real estate be increased? This panel presents new concepts and segments with which, under certain circumstances, a crisis can be better weathered.
Expo Real also focuses for a second time in its REIN / Real Estate Innovation Forum on digitisation and was also partner at HospitalityInside's first HITT Think Tank in Berlin in June. For this reason, HID also looks at trends, potential and opportunities for "emerging technologies”: "When bricks learn to speak..." is intended to show how fast barriers between hotel real estate and hotel operations are coming down.
And last but not least, the last half hour of the day is given over to "overtourism" - taking the example of Amsterdam. In light of the city's one million inhabitants and 18 million tourists per year, the city has hit the brakes and is preparing alternatives.
The conference programme can be found here; it will continue to be updated and supplemented. / map
