Munich (October 5, 2012). 1,700 exhibitors from 31 countries have applied to appear at the 15th Expo Real, five percent more than last year. The international trade fair appears to defy every crisis. The number of joint stands has also increased. And so the "World of Hospitality" is fully on trend. Within the space of a year, it has doubled its size. An update for Expo Real visitors.
The International Trade Fair for Commercial Real Estate and Investment takes place from Monday to Wednesday, October 8-10, 2012 on the Munich fairground. Visitors will see far more exhibitors from Italy, Austria, Poland and the Russian Federation. Italy has its strongest ever presence at Expo Real with the participation of the cities of Turin and Bolzano. Poland even has three joint stands representing the Polish Foreign Investment Agency, Silesia and Warsaw. The City of Vienna is also making its maiden appearance on the “Vienna – Europe’s heart” stand. From Russia, the cities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg are among those showcasing their projects. Newcomers this year are companies from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chile, the Dominican Republic and Greece (for details, see www.exporeal.net).
Hospitality industry uses its chance
The joint hospitality stand "World of Hospitality" has doubled in size after its launch just one year ago in 2011. Expo Real itself has highlighted its success in a current press release on the fair. 14 co-exhibitors make up this year‘s joint stand (Stand 234 in Hall C2). With roughly 170 sq.m. of exhibition space, its optical impact is considerable. This gives the sector its deserved visibility for investors and highlights it as a serious asset class, also compared to commercial property.
For some exhibitors, participation at the joint stand last year was a real commitment. Not everyone was sure what would await them at the trade fair. The fact that all partners from last year are also on board in 2012 is underlined by the sector's growing willingness to take part in discussion - also in crisis years. In direct exchange with project developers, financiers/investors and banks, many questions about the hotel can be more easily answered.
Stand partners in 2012 are, in alphabetic order:

HospitalityInside GmbH, the Augsburg-based initiator and coordinator of the stand, is very satisfied with the response from exhibitors: "Many conversations on the fringes, also with companies who will not come on board until 2013, show the growing desire of the sector to take a more pro-active approach to influencing investment," Managing Director Michael Willems says.

Increasing awareness with hotel conference
The Expo Real supports the hotel sector in providing a perfect location for the joint stand, directly opposite the "Special Real Estate Forum" in which, for years, the hotel conference "Hospitality Industry Dialogue" has taken place on the first day of the fair. Every year, this event attracts between 800 and 1,000 participants. This too will increase the sector's visibility at the real estate and investment fair. Organised by hospitalityInside Editor-in-Chief Maria Puetz-Willems, this year's conference visitor can expect a whole range of fact-heavy discussions on the subjects of finance, assets, expansion, contract triangles and niche concepts. The exact conference programme can be found under this link (then click on "Special Real Estate Forum").
BRICKS & BRAINS: Hosting for the hospitality industry
"Full house" is the word for the evening event "BRICKS & BRAINS", the 4th such networking event hosted by hospitalityInside and Expo Real. Hosts again expect 150 guests at top management level, as well as from hotel operations, development, project development and finance/investment. The selective invitation procedure has proved its worth, guaranteeing efficient networking at a high level. Over 40 percent of guests attend the event for the first time this year.
"BRICKS & BRAINS" has meanwhile also gained a group of loyal sponsors who recognise the value of the event. The main sponsors are, for the fourth time, Kempinski Hotels & Resorts, who together with the team from the Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich, will host guests over the course of the event. Also on board from the very beginning, Choice Hotels Europe, the construction and planning experts from RMDS Hotel Development and Solutions Holding (Treugast). bbg-Consulting is on board for the second time. New sponsors this year include Fondara company group and the new Riem Hotels.
Overview of partners:
• Kempinski Hotels & Resorts
• (Treugast) Solutions
• Choice Hotels Europe
• RMDS Hotel Development
• bbg-Consulting
• Riem Hotels Munich / Fondara Company Group
"With this approach comprised of trade fair presentation, communication, targeted reporting as well as the increasing participation of renowned hotel groups and hotel-relevant companies at various platforms, the sector should succeed in finding its voice in the real estate and investment environment, also beyond Expo Real," hospitalityInside Managing Director Michael Willems says.
