The concept kick

ITB Hospitality Day presents young, unusual hotel concepts

Sextantio Group Albergo Diffuso S Stefano di Sessanio Abruzzo
Sextantio Group: Hospitality in a unique venue.

Berlin (February 22, 2013). Young energy at the 8th ITB Hospitality Day, between 13:30 and 14:30 on Thursday, the 7th of March: With lively talks and discussions, four hotel groups will present their unusual concepts. Dormero Hotels from Germany will be attracting listeners' attention with a 3-D concept for sound and lighting, Palladium Hotels from Spain will do the same with a special music hotel on Ibiza, the design-oriented creatives of Sextantio Group from Italy will talk about their World Cultural Heritage five-star caves, and the co-founders of URBN Hotels from China will be drawing attention to carbon-free city hotels. The hotel conference in Hall 7.1b/London auditorium is open to all trade show visitors.

Today, the successful hotels are often hotels with pizzazz, with that tiny bit more that is directed quite specifically at a special target group. The location alone is no longer only vital, but increasingly more often, it is the idea. Four hotel groups that have set up with completely new concepts or new brands in a niche would like to demonstrate this. In each case and in 10 minute presentations, they will introduce their unusual beginning and then all will join in discussion with the professional British journalist, Mary Gostelow.

Aleksej Leunov, CEO of the Gold Inn AG with their Dormero Hotels brand, is an IT enthusiast himself and has brought the entertainment idea of the Musical Centre Stuttgart to the hotel and has even further enhanced: In the smart lobby lounge of the Dormero Hotel SI Centrum Stuttgart, the guests can experience 3-D spectacles every evening. Flames blaze on the property facade, then it rains in streams, water gurgles from the spiral staircase and later, poison-green blades of grass will grow over the facade and finally, screws turn wheel in wheel. It glows, flashes and flickers, at times the space collapses within itself and is built anew. A perfect light and sound spectacle.

Moreover, hotel guests can enjoy additional high-tech ideas in the rooms and in the event rooms …

Ushuaia is the new, lively brand of the Spanish Palladium Hotels & Resorts (previously Fiesta Hotels). The Ibiza Beach Hotel is creating a sensation – it's merger of a former 3-star Fiesta Hotel and a Beach Club. Everything here is about outdoor entertainment at the poolside, about öive music, international DJs and bands. "It has set new standards for tourism to Ibiza," the hotel chain reported at ITB 2012 and spoke of an average 90% occupancy over the first season and thousands of party-goers from across the globe. Group Marketing Director Alfonso Gimenez will present the concept.

Kihlgren Daniele

Scott Barrack, Co-founder and Managing Director of URBN Hotels & Resorts is arriving from Shanghai. He will demonstrate how he defines an "emission-free" hotel in Asia and how the guests from Asia respond to the subject of sustainability. Europeans have become deeply familiar with this subject in the meantime, but in "emerging markets," such concepts still belong among the absolute novelties. URBN Hotels has consistently thought it out, from the construction up to F&B.

The engagement of the Italian Sextantio Group is to be positively valued as unique. They revitalise desolate villages in the Italian mountains, change caves and stone churches into 5 Star design rooms and public areas … The greatest challenge is certainly to then bring everything together in harmony with the criteria of the World Cultural Heritage. Daniele Kihlgren, the Founder & President of the Sextantio Group, will introduce his idea personally; then Danilo Di Pasquale, General Director of the Sextantio Hospitality Group, will take part in the discussion.
