Tettnang (June 17, 2011). The workshop "Investment in Spas" at the Hotel Nassauer Hof in Wiesbaden at the end of May was a great success. Therefore the organizers, Rizzato Spa Consulting and hospitalityInside.com, have set a new date in November for an "Intensive Workshop".
17 participants registered for the premiere of this Spa Workshop in the middle of May that was extremely oriented toward economic efficiency; a top-notch circle from managing directors of reputable hotel chains and up to executives from hotel operators, spa managers, advisers and representatives of the supplier´s industry. Dagmar Rizzato, Managing Director of Rizzato Spa Consulting, gave a comprehensive overview regarding the current spa market and spa trends with many important core statements. One of which was that there is quite a bit of movement in the day spa market which is primarily caused by the dynamism in the cosmetics industry.
Matthias Buchholz analysed the medical trends with health-specialised consultants, Kohl & Partner in Villach, Austria, while he compared the demands for medicine and patient tourism, spa and wellness tourism and the different customer types with each other. Susanne Kraus Winkler, Managing Director of the Loisium Hotel and Resort Development Management GmbH in Austria, supplied the participants with detailed key figures in the calculation of building costs, spa areas and treatment rooms and calculated which factors influence the revenue and yield calculation. In an interesting excursion on the subject of thermae financing, public financing and EU Aid, KPMG lawyer, Dr. Arnd Buehner, woke up the hoteliers when he noted that many hoteliers have not recognised at all that they are at a disadvantage toward new thermae competitors.
Wellness writer and hospitalityInside editor in chief, Maria Puetz-Willems illuminated the spa subject from the guest view and warned against wearing the investor´s and accountant´s glasses too much. Money is still earned through the guest - by the hands of the therapists.
Due to the positive resonance, the Rizzato Spa Consulting and hospitalityInside Workshop will be repeated as an "Intensive Workshop", on Thursday the 3rd of November, 2011. Then only two main focuses will dominate in the morning and afternoon: the spa market and the calculations.
