In a one-day expert's forum, the specialists in international hotel and tourism consulting, Kohl & Partner from Vienna will hold this convention for the first time together with the full service branding agency, viennabrand. The forum is directed toward those responsible in the hotel and destination industry and offers opportunities for international exchange. The motto "thinking outside the box" will be the prevalent theme. Among other things, the participants can explore the city of Vienna as an experience destination and benefit from practised examples.
So, on the day before the convention, the participants will visit the Viennese manufactures of porcelain, lamps and shoes and with this, receive cause for thought in the development of a city´s district as a destination. Historical and contemporary architecture as well as local manufactures are generally a source of inspiration in the attractiveness of destinations. These experiences will be incorporated into the talks and discussions on the convention day, itself.
Discuss and install
On the main conference day, there will then be six keynote speeches on destination branding – as illustrated in the cities Vienna and Berlin. For each instance, the Managing Directors of the tourism marketing companies will speak. Then, Managing Director of Kohl&Partner, Martin Schaffer, and Viennabrand CEO Oliver Schmitt will introduce international benchmarks for experiences in tourism. Matthias Siegert with VON M GmbH from Stuttgart produces a room installation for the hotel room of the future as it might be imagined for the new generation of "the homeless" (non-stop travellers). The participants can visit this room installation separately.
In the afternoon, Augsburg architect, Armin Fischer with Dreimeta demonstrates the fact that hotel architecture has always provided for a successful experience. And in closing, catering king, Klaus Peter Kofler, describes how one can break away from the current rules and concepts and successfully set up outside the "mainstream".
Deadline for registrations on October 24
These keywords indicate that this convention will have a rather unusual character and offer plenty of material for discussion. The "Future Convention for Hotel & Destination Branding" begins on Tuesday, the 8th of November, 2011, at 4 p.m. in the lounge of the MUMOK (museum of modern art). The convention that will take place on Wednesday, the 9th of November will continue to allow the participants much room for discussion after its conclusion.
Participation costs 850 Euro (plus 20% VAT) including catering; from the second participant, the cost is 750 Euro. The deadline for applications is on Monday, the 24th of October, 2011.
