Munich (January 12, 2018). Hotel rooms in Germany are becoming increasingly smaller and more efficient, without having to relinquish their stylish design standards. Budget hotels have proved that the same amount or even more money can be made from rooms of just 15-19 sq.m. in size, compared to the 22-24 sq.m. rooms of the large 4-star hotels. The secret is to be found in their clever design. Learn more from the major names of the sector – from experts from GBI AG, Invesco Real Estate, Motel One, Ruby Hotels and a2 architecture. On Monday 19 March 2018, hotelbau and hospitalityInside.com will hold a one-day symposium on "Efficient use of space in hotel planning and operation" at the Hotel Sofitel Bayerpost Munich. The day is rounded off with the visit of three hotels in Munich.

Motel One founder Dieter Mueller is known in the industry as a master of the Excel table. From the very first day, he calculated the efficiency of his budget hotels – in order to convince his finance and investment partners with these figures. Insiders know: Many projects fail because the building can't house a sufficient number of rooms and/or public spaces are designed much too generously.

are small layouts.

Cost pressures on investors, project developers and operators are getting greater by the day: In the popular German market, there are ever fewer land parcels and the few which are available are increasingly compact.

The symposium organised by hotelbau and hospitalityInside.com entitled "Efficient use of space in hotel planning and operation" to be held on 19 March in the Hotel Sofitel Bayerpost Munich therefore makes the expertise of established professionals available to participants. All experts present look back on long-term experience in the creation and implementation of cost-conscious hotel projects. The speakers are

• Reiner Nittka, Board Speaker of the project developer GBI
• Hans-Peter Hermann, Director Asset Management Hotels of the Investment Company Invesco Real Estate
• Stefan Lenze, Head of Development of the Budget Design Group Motel One
• Michael Struck, CEO of the Lean Luxury hotel group Ruby Hotels
• Oliver Massabni, Hotel Architect and Managing Director of a2 architecture

Exciting hotel visits

The symposium is rounded off by an evening programme which consists of guided viewings of the Cocoon Hotel Munich Central Station, the 25hours Hotel the Royal Bavarian as well as the Ruby Lilly Munich, in which the event finds its climax in an inspiring get-together.
