Berlin (March 2, 2007). The solvency of hotel and tourism undertakings is more often the subject of rumour than of fact. A thirty minute lecture at the 2nd "Hospitality Day" at the ITB in Berlin next week looks at the evaluation of company solvency. Werner Pauen, former Finance Chairman of hotel chains, will explain his approach to the issue.

Pauen begins by looking at present evaluation methods and discusses the possibilities they afford and the limits they reach in the hotel and tourism industry. The aim is, in respect of particular factors prevailing in this branch of industry, to make more accurate statements in relation to success, solvency and finance.

The speaker will discuss detailed questions and in particular the consequences that company growth and state of the economy may have on future results. The latter, for instance, is often used in explaining negative developments. Scientific proof of this, however, remains absent. It's here, so it's claimed, that his approach is of particular help.

Werner Pauen's lecture is part of a total of six discussion rounds at the ITB's hotel congress. 24 top speakers from all over the world, from renowned companies will come together between 10.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to share their experiences with their audiences. hospitalityInside.com presented the individual contents of each talk round last week (see links). Entrance to all discussions in Hall 7.1a, Room New York 1 is free of charge.

hospitalityInside.com is media partner for the ITB "Hospitality Day" and Editor in Chief, Maria Puetz-Willems will host the discussions; she also worked on defining the content. / map
