ITB Asia: Often, niches offer higher growth
Singapore (August 8, 2008). The inaugural ITB Asia, October 22-24 in Singapore, partners with three specialist travel trade events that will give attendees access to four leading events in one trip to Singapore. As reported recently, the exhibition space of ITB Asia is sold out.
Within four days, in the same location of Suntec, Singapore, delegates can attend a travel distribution, marketing and technology event, a corporate travel event, a MICE event, and the general travel trade show and convention.
The main event is ITB Asia, October 22-24. The "ITB Asia Convention", where - like in Berlin - the latest travel industry issues and trends are discussed, takes place on the mornings of October 23-24. Before ITB Asia starts, the "Web in Travel" (WIT) event takes place October 21-22. In addition, the "Association of Corporate Travel Executives" (ACTE) has organized two morning sessions October 23-24. And "Meeting Professionals International" (MPI) will have its inaugural Asian Meetings and Events Conference to take place October 23-24.
Delegates to ITB Asia are eligible for discounts or member rate prices for the three niche events. Delegates to the three niche events can enter ITB Asia`s main exhibition hall, social and media events at no charge. ITB Asia will feature up to 500 exhibitor companies from over 40 countries meeting with up to 3,000 visitors including buyers. In all, 5,000 travel industry delegates are expected. Exhibitors come from every sector of the industry, including destinations, airlines and airports, hotels & resorts, theme parks & attractions, inbound tour operators, inbound DMCs, cruise lines, spas, venues, other meeting facilities and travel technology companies.
"If you want travel industry niche sector focus, we have it," said Dr Martin Buck, director of Messe Berlin (Singapore) which is organizing the inaugural ITB Asia. "If you prefer access to a large variety of general travel trade products and quality buyers, we also have that."
The four-in-one concept allows travel industry generalists to boost their understanding of niche segments, which often offer higher yields and dynamic growth. "Holding Web in Travel back-to-back with ITB Asia gives both events a great leg up," says Siew Hoon, producer of the technology event. "WIT-ters get access to a large travel fair and ITB Asia delegates get access to a conference focused on one of the most dynamic segments in the Asian travel and tourism industry."

With the launch of ITB Asia ITB Berlin has been continuously expanding its position as the world`s leading marketing platform for the travel industry for more than 40 years.
With some 11,000 exhibitors from all over the world it can offer an unrivalled international portfolio. Around 110,000 trade visitors attend this event in the German capital, and just under 40 per cent of them are from abroad. The ITB Berlin accurately sums up these figures with its slogan "The World's Leading Travel Trade Show". Messe Berlin has now obtained protection for the claim as an EU trademark from the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market.
Not only is the ITB Berlin (www.itb-berlin.de) the Number One trade show, it is also the world`s largest consumer trade fair. The ITB Berlin Convention Market Trends & Innovations is the largest convention in the world for the industry. In 2008 its 90 events attracted 11,000 participants. In particular the "ITB Hospitality Day" and "ITB Aviation Day" have proved to be leading forums in their fields.
hospitalityInside.com is responsible for the content of the ITB Hospitality Day in Berlin, launched in 2006 and is also media partner of the event. The bi-lingual online magazine based in Augsburg (Germany) will also accompany ITB Berlin (Singapore) to Asia this year and will also be a media partner at the inaugural ITB Asia. / kn
