Berlin/Singapore (May 23, 2008). With the "ITB Asia", the trade fair Berlin/Singapore creates a new international platform for tourism insiders looking at Asia. The first ITB Asia will take place at Suntec Singapore Center in Singapore from 22 to 24 October, 2008. In contrast to the purely leisure-oriented ITB Berlin, the "Asian sister" will be an event covering leisure, business travel and MICE. In addition, it is a pure B2B fair. hospitalityInside.com will act as media partner and supports the ITB Asia in terms of promotion. At this point, we would like to introduce you to new approaches and offers of the ITB Asia in the next few weeks which are of value for the hotel industry. For starters: the "Hosted Buyer Programme" - recommended for recommendation.

Hosted Buyer programmes are a fixed part of modern trade fairs. Accordingly, at the ITB Asia, the organiser - Messe Berlin Singapore Pte Ltd in cooperation with the Singapore Tourism Board - invites important buyers from the industry to Singapore providing them with direct contacts and talks with the exhibitors.

In order to enjoy the sponsor package offered by the trade fair company Berlin/Singapore (flight, hotel, trade fair visit), a Hosted Buyer who is interested needs to qualify via online application by filling in a prepared questionnaire and criteria catalogue. To do so, he should go to www.itb-asia.com  and click on "Visitor Centre". He will then be notified whether he belongs to the select circle. Applicants need to have the authority to decide on buying tourist services.

The ITB Asia expects exhibitors from more than 35 countries. The vast majority comes from the leisure and mice segment, the rest belongs to the corporate and business travel segment. With this, the ITB Asia covers three core areas of tourist services. The exhibitors include airlines, hotels and resorts, destinations, theme parks and attractions, inbound tour operators and inbound destination management companies, cruise ships, spas and providers of conferences/meetings and travel technology.

The trade fair itself is embedded in a conference programme which only partially overlaps with the opening hours of the trade fair. The trade fair company has organised competent partners like MPI (Meetings Professional International), ACTE (the worldwide renowned Association of Corporate Travel Executives) and Web in Travel (an already existing conference about web travels). Both exhibitors and hosted buyers thus benefit from the latest issues in the industry and from the Asian market. / red
