Munich (April 22, 2016). Sustainability certificates already impact on finance today and thus also on the value of hotel real estate. They also force owners and hotel operators to think and act sustainably, which has a positive effect on costs. But how is that in practice? This is explained by speakers at the specialist symposium Green Hotels initiated by the two specialist magazines hospitalityInside.com and hotelbau. The symposium will be held in the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center in Munich on 22 June 2016. Those interested can already register.

Sustainability certificates such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design), BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) and the quality seal of the German Society for Sustainable Construction (DGNB) are meanwhile well established in the world of real estate. They are also becoming increasingly important for hotel real estate. The best example of this is the DGNB-certified Ramada/H2-Hotel at Munich Trade Fair, the host for the upcoming Green Hotels symposium.

Speakers will explain sustainability certification from the perspective of the auditor, architect, project developer and operator - with clear examples from practice. Sponsor of the event is Mitsubishi Electric.

Architect Katrin Hootz will give a speech entitled "Two Owners, Three Types of Use" - how it's possible to satisfy different demands whilst at the same time creating a harmonious and functional building. Philipp Hlousek from Fondara Immobilien AG, the project developer and owner of the double hotel, will explain why DGNB certification was important. Andreas Kuhnert from Mitsubishi Electric Europe will explain what systems bring the building to life. And a representative from the operator H-Hotels will also speak.

The event will take place on 22 June 2016 between midday and 5:45 p.m. in the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center Munich Trade Fair. The seminar hotel is easily accessible by car and by city railway.

A regular participation fee of EUR 240 applies. Subscribers to hotelbau, hospitalityInside.com, Der Facility Manager and industriebau pay only EUR 210 (prices indicated exclude 19% VAT). Each further participant receives a 10% discount where registered together.
